NEW ECO-TOURISM COMPANY LAUNCHES FLAGSHIP EXPERIENCE

BoRo Experiences rolls out the BoRo Beach Bike to Isle of Wight this summer

A new eco-tourism company that aims to shake up the way we exercise, play and interact outdoors will launch its first experience this summer – a 17-seater beach bike offering riders the chance to connect and collaborate while exploring the country’s stunning landscapes.

BoRo Experiences has designed its flagship product to look like a quintessentially English beach hut, complete with surfboards on the roof and striped décor.  The BoRo Beach Bike offers 60-minute experiences that are suitable for all ages and fitness levels and has a huge range of potential uses, from speed chess games to speed dating, to afternoon tea and business networking. Riders sit face-to-face across a table and pedal hands free, allowing them to sip drinks, play games, write, draw and shake hands.

Complete with an on-board TV and sound system, the bike is ideal for presentations and musical rides. It has a rain awning that completely covers the riders in case of showers and a small on-board electric motor to help ramp up the pedal power.

BoRo Experiences will roll out the BoRo Beach Bike concept to the Isle of Wight this summer, starting in Ryde in July, followed by Cowes in the Autumn. The exclusive and custom-designed bike can be adapted to any theme or brand, with BoRo City Bikes and BoRo Park Bikes already in development and in discussions with potential locations.

The BoRo Beach bike is carbon-neutral and eco-conscious through and through. Staff uniforms and merchandise will be supplied by award-winning, eco-fashion brand Rapanui, while pedallers will be able to buy natural spring water on board in recycled, recyclable and re-sealable aluminium cans, supplied by ethical brand CanO Water. With a commitment to regular litter-picking rides every month, the BoRo Beach Bike intends to leave the environment cleaner than before.

The concept is the brainchild of award-winning marketing expert Dominic Wong, whose experience includes the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and Merlin Entertainments, and who is now on a mission to take eco-tourism to the next level.

“The BoRo Beach Bike is about getting active, getting together and getting out there – all year round – and the Isle of Wight’s stunning coastline is the perfect place to launch this unique concept. And this is just the start. We’re in talks to take the bike concept to other locations while also developing other exciting eco-tourism experiences,” said BoRo Experiences Founder and CEO Wong.

GROUP BEACH BIKE EXPERIENCE TO LAUNCH ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT THIS SUMMER

A unique 17-seater bike experience with an eco-friendly heart will roll into Ryde this summer.

Set to brighten Britain’s beaches, the world’s first BoRo Beach Bike will be launched on the Isle of Wight in July.

Modelled on a quintessentially English beach hut - complete with surfboards and striped decor - passengers will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities onboard, such as chess, afternoon tea, speed dating and networking, while pedalling along the Island’s stunning coastline.

Riders sit face-to-face across a table and travel sideways. They pedal hands free, allowing them to sip drinks, play games, write, draw and shake hands.

Each bike will have space for ten pedallers, of all fitness levels, plus five seats for non-pedallers, such as children or passengers who are unable to cycle, plus two seats next to the driver for children.

A second bike is set to arrive in Cowes in the autumn.

The bikes are the brainchild of award-winning marketing expert Dominic Wong, whose experience includes Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and Merlin Entertainments.

“The BoRo Beach Bike is about getting active, getting together and getting out there,” he said.

“It’s a chance for friends, work colleagues or perfect strangers to chat, brainstorm, or get to know each other, while exploring the Isle of Wight’s spectacular coastlines.”

The Ryde bike will be based at Wightlink’s FastCat terminal at Ryde Pier Head, where trips will begin.

The bike will then pick up more passengers outside Ryde Superbowl before heading to Appley and Puckpool parks.

Return tickets range from £5 for the Sunrise Ride to £12.50 for the Original Tour, with private hire also available.

Tickets are available now and tours are due to start on 22nd July 2018.

The carbon-neutral bike will take eco-tourism on the Island to the next level. Staff uniforms and merchandise will be supplied by the Island’s award-winning, eco-fashion brand, Rapanui, while pedallers will be able to buy natural spring water on board in recycled, recyclable and re-sealable aluminium cans, supplied by eco-conscious brand CanO Water.

With a commitment to regular litter-picking rides every month, the BoRo Beach Bike will leave the Island’s beaches even more beautiful than before.

Visit Isle of Wight’s managing director, Will Myles, said: “Not only does the BoRo Beach Bike offer the Island a first-of-its-kind, eco-tourism experience but it also showcases the wonderful parks, beautiful beaches and coastal towns that attract millions of visitors every year. We look forward to working with the BoRo Beach Bike to promote all that Ryde and Cowes have to offer.”

IW Council cabinet member for tourism Cllr Wayne Whittle added: “I encouraged the project as it reminded me of the old Dotto Train - only this time it’s pedal assisted with green credentials. The BoRo Beach Bike offers a huge number of opportunities for residents, local businesses and tourists and its strong eco-credentials are totally aligned with our values. We’re delighted the Isle of Wight is able to offer this experience.”
